  Painting Commission

The tradition of the oil painting portrait commission derives from a European aristocratic custom that began in the 13th century. Nowadays, in contrast with our pervasive culture of selfies and Instagram, it holds an especially elevated status.

O Zhang was trained at the Royal College of Art in London and Central Academy of Art in Beijing (both top-rated art schools). She has had 14 years of training in academic painting. She was one of very few artists selected to meet with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip when they came to see her art exhibition.

O Zhang's Clients include

English and Scottish aristocrats, Royal Judges of London, Italian and American entrepreneurs as well as high profile individuals and families in America and Europe.

"Portrait painting is an aspirational gesture, a unique investment to honor the sitters and a familial focal point for generations to come."

                                                            ― O Zhang
